In the most recent addition to an ever-growing cast, The Hollywood Reporter has finally revealed that Ray Stevenson (from Punisher: War Zone) has signed on to Disney’s Ahsoka series in an unknown role. He joins the Disney series star Rosario Dawsonwho played Ahsoka Tano in both The Mandalorian and more recently in The Book of Boba Fett, which is the spin-off series produced and written by Dave Filoni.

This won’t be Ray Stevenson’s first visit to a galaxy far away. The actor had voiced the role of Gar Saxon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. The inclusion of Sabine Wren in Ahsoka suggests that Mandalorians will be eventually involved in the story in some capacity, however, it’s not really expected that Stevenson will also follow in the footsteps of Katee Sackhoff, helping his character to make the final jump from animation to live-action. Instead, as per The Hollywood Reporter, sources reveal that Stevenson plays a villainous admiral.

Ahsoka Tano made his first live-action appearance, in The Mandalorian‘s “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” seeing her demanding some information for the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn, leading to some speculation that her search for him will be the prime focus of her series. Though Stevenson is certainly playing an admiral, the casting report reveals that he will not be taking on the role of the Empire’s famous master strategist.

In addition to Stevenson and Dawson, Ahsoka‘s cast even includes Hayden Christensen returning to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker, a part that he is expected to play in the forthcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which will be premiering on May 25. Since, by the time we reach this point in the story’s timeline, Darth Vader has been dead for many years, it is highly likely that fans will see Christensen playing Anakin Skywalker in the flashback. The character was Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi master once before the latter went away from the Order. It is unknown until now how this will play into the plot of the series, but the dramatic potential in the Star Wars spin-off is too good to ignore.

The cast also includes Ivanna Sakhno in an unknown role and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren. Previously this year, the series also added Mary Elizabeth Winstead to the cast in a thus-far undisclosed role.

We do not have any release date for Ahsoka till now. Production is now expected to begin in LA in April.
