Deadpool 2 has got a lot in it. From Cable to X-Force to Domino. But as Animated Times already told you, that we expect a surprise entry. And guess what we got it.
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for the movie. If you are planning to go and watch it, then don’t go through this article.
The movie has got one of the most popular villains of Marvel, The Juggernaut. We did saw a glimpse of him in the trailer, but it was for just a fraction of second. But with the movie premiere on Thursday, it is now pretty clear. However, the only thing which was not clear was who would be portraying The Juggernaut. And to our very surprise, that actor is kind of really special for the Deadpool franchise.
The screenwriter Rhett Resse revealed that it would be Deadpool playing the Juggernaut. Yes, Ryan Reynolds himself has voiced and gave expressions to the CGI rendered Juggernaut.
Okay that means, Ryan Reynolds has played the titular role in the movie, has co-written the script, has co-produced the movie and has also played another character. Hats off to his commitment. No wonder, he tried 10 years to get this movie on production.
Rhett Resse told the CBR,
“Ryan Reynolds ended up voicing Juggernaut, if you didn’t know that. That was Ryan’s voice as the Juggernaut, and he did the facial capture for him. I don’t know how they did the physical mo-cap — I don’t think that was Ryan.”
“We always wanted to see a CG Juggernaut, so we finally got that. We also really needed to balance the scales in act three, between Deadpool and friends and little Firefist who has cool powers, but we needed to make it a fair fight. What greater force of nature than Juggernaut?”
The Juggernaut has been a crucial part of the Marvel comics for so many years. And let’s be honest, X-Men: The Last Stand didn’t do any justice to his role. With Ryan Reynolds now himself taking up the baton, we could expect something special this time.
