Rob Liefeld Still Hopeful Hugh Jackman Reprises Wolverine Role Opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool

Deadpool birth giver Rob Liefeld remains “holding out” hope former X-Men star Hugh Jackman, who retired the Wolverine role after 17 years in swansong Logan, will unsheathe his adamantium claws one last time opposite Ryan Reynolds’ fully-formed Deadpool. Reynolds would later debut as a more accurate version of the character, complete with costume and personality, within the Tim Miller-directed solo feature Deadpool.

Liefeld during the #QuarantineWatchParty told that he doesn’t wish to have a foothold on things that can’t possibly be. He’s firm enough to believe that as the years pass, as we get more distant, that perhaps in a decade, he shall see them together. He concluded that as time passes, things change. He is still holding out on the particular indisputable fact that there is still a chance of them sharing screentime at some point in time now that Ryan has found the Deadpool.

Reynolds told Entertainment Weekly in 2018. But there’s nobody that he actually likes quite as Hugh Jackman in the world, and equally so as a lover. He’s just the simplest.
He already misses him as Logan. He’s one among those guys that whenever he sees him, he goes like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We’ll do it together. It’ll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,’ and it is often just me saying it.”

Jackman is our new WOLVERINE

Jackman, now 51, has repeatedly reaffirmed he’s “done” as Wolverine, saying he once would have liked to have teamed with Reynolds‘ Merc With a Mouth.
When Jackman saw Deadpool, he used to be like, wow that’s cool. It’s just a matter of our time. It’s like you’re at the best party you’ve ever been to, you’ve  been dancing for an hour and a half, then you’re slightly like ‘It’s time, okay. If I stay any more, it’s gonna get ugly. And on the way home, someone calls you and goes ‘They just put Jackson on! You gotta get back here!’ And a part of you goes, ‘I like Jackson,’ on the other hand you only go, ‘I want to travel to bed.'”
