Yes, Hollywood has again attempted at recycling the classic tale of Robin Hood. Unfortunately for Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton, who star in the latest iteration, the newest adaptation of the iconic character is nothing more than a flop.

The film just opened for a $14 million five day opening against a budget of under $100 million which puts it on the list of the year’s biggest blockbuster bomb. This is unfortunate for the Lionsgate as the film ”

The critics are also not doing any good to the film, giving it an average of just 13% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie faced tough competition as it went against Creed II, Fantastic Beasts, The Grinch, and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Robin Hood came after 8 years of Russell Crowe’s attempt at playing the character in his film, with the same title. While many fans love 1991’s Robin Hood, but even that film is not considered to be ‘very good’ by few.

Many people prefer to watch the cartoon fox from 1973’s Robin Hood or 1993’s Robin Hood: Men in Tights, a comedy starring Cary Elwes.

Some people turned to Twitter and expressed that the problem lies within the same old Robin Hood casting. If they had gone for an actor of colour, people may have been more inclined to watch a version of the overdone tale. Moreover, they can keep casting these conventionally attractive white men but none has been able to live up to the sexy charm of the animated fox.
