A Spanish court ruling on Tuesday shows that Shakira will face trial over the ongoing tax fraud case. As of yet, there has not been a date set for the trial to take place.
In a court filing on July 29, according to a Spanish prosecutor, Shakira should be jailed for eight years and two months for alleged tax evasion. As well as that, if convicted, she would be subject to a fine of $24 million.
According to the case, the singer didn’t pay around $14M in taxes between 2012 and 2014.
