Shakira and her estranged partner Gerard Pique are constantly making headlines for their shocking split that surfaced back in June this year. The ex-couple had been together for more than a decade sharing two children together, Milan and Sasha. They had been involved in a legal lawsuit for the custody of their children due to their different plans. A source previously shared that the Colombian star wants to take their kids to Miami while the Barcelona defender plans for their kids to stay in Barcelona where they had been living since now. Amidst their custody battle, the couple was spotted at eldest son Milan’s baseball game on Saturday.
Shakira and Gerard Pique Spotted At Son’s Baseball Game
The former couple, Shakira and Gerard Pique, were in attendance at their eldest son Milan’s baseball game in Barcelona on Sunday. Even though they were present at the same place, they maintained their distance from each other since their separation.
The Colombian singer arrived with her mother and several friends to watch her son Milan’s game. She was also spotted waving her arms in the air as she cheered him on from behind the fence on one side of the field.
On the other hand, her ex-partner Pique was spotted with his mother watching the game. According to the reports, the ex-couple did not make any contact during the entire game before interacting when they went to see their sons after the game was over.
Their recent encounter came just days after they were spotted outside a law firm amid their attempts to settle their divorce proceedings including the custody of their children.
Shakira Shares About Her Separation With Gerard Pique
The 45-year-old singer recently addressed her separation in an interview with Elle stating,
“Um, and yeah, it’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation. And so it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult.”
She also opened up about the difficulties she had to tackle to conceal things from her children amidst the continuous limelight she’s getting from the media.
“So it’s hard. And I’ve tried to conceal the situation in front of my kids. I try to do it and to protect them, because that’s my number one mission in life. But then they hear things in school from their friends or they come across some disagreeable, unpleasant news online, and it just affects them, you know?”
Amidst the former couple’s divorce proceedings, the Barcelona-based football player has been making headlines for dating 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti for the past few months.
