This year has been quite rough for Colombian singer Shakira as she ended her 12-year-long relationship with soccer player Gerard Pique in June. The soccer player reportedly cheated on the singer with a woman named Clara Chia Marti. Sources have claimed that their alleged affair has been going on for over a year now and even Gerard Pique’s zoom interview from March 2021 has confirmed it.
Since the split, the soccer player has been spotted with Clara Chia Marti multiple times and this has left the singer “devastated.” They share two sons, Sasha and Milan.
Gerard Pique has been dating Clara Chia Marti for a while now
A zoom meeting took place back in March 2021 when Gerard Pique was dating Shakira. In the video, Clara Chia Marti can be spotted in the background. This seemingly confirms that the soccer player has been dating Chia Marti for a very long time now.
A source has revealed that Shakira is “devastated to learn that this woman clearly felt at home in the house they shared with their children.” In Elle’s October 2022 digital cover story, Shakira described their split as “incredibly difficult.” The two also fought a long battle for the custody of their kids, Sasha and Milan.

As per reports, Shakira was on a vacation with their children when Gerard Pique gave the zoom interview. As per a source, “they were very much still together at that time. It’s devastating for her to learn that this affair had been going on for a lot longer than she imagined.”
The soccer player tried to keep his new relationship hidden from the media but after the split, his infidelity was all over the news. As per reports, when the singer initially found out about his affair, she thought it is something temporary.

In June, Shakira and Gerard Pique announced in a joint statement that the two are ending their 12-year-long relationship,
“We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
They first met in 2010 while filming a music video for Shakira’s hit Waka Waka (This Time for Africa). The singer had to sacrifice a lot as she wanted to support Gerard Pique’s soccer career. She even moved to Spain, leaving several big opportunities behind, so the soccer player can continue playing for the Spanish soccer team FC Barcelona.
