Shakira and Gerard Pique separated earlier this year after being together for 12 years and sharing two kids. It has been a long time since they first started dating in 2010, after meeting each other while the shooting of the Waka Waka mv. The night does change very fast.

The two have now gone their separate ways, after the Spaniard’s affair with Clara Chia Marti. Their relationship has gone down the drain, with the shadow of a custody battle causing no end of problems.

Why Shakira and Gerard?

Shakira and Gerard Pique made their split official with a joint statement in June 2022. Though it wasn’t clear in the beginning what led to the love birds falling out of love. But with time, a lot of rumors made the truth clear. It was Gerard Pique cheating on his partner that made the two go their separate ways.

The identity of his new secret girlfriend continued to be a mystery for quite some time. But in the end, people did find out. It was a Public Relations Student, Clara Chia Marti, who won over the 35-year-old’s heart, while working at Gerard Pique’s company, Kosmos.

Shakira had her way as Gerard Pique lets go of the kids’ custody

The couple is now separated and has finally worked out an agreement to settle how the two will share their children’s custody. The Hips Don’t Lie singer has got her way and will take her kids to the United States of America to live with her in Miami, where she was rumored to have planned her life following the split.

What she will have to do in return is leave her home, the one where she and Pique lived for a long time. The two spent a large part of their life together in that house. And if reports are anything to go by, it will be Clara Chia Marti who will be the new madam of the house.

Clara Chia Marti had a big role in the agreement

But the two wouldn’t mind the costs incurred. Gerard Pique and Shakira were hopeful of a settlement for quite some time now. The custody battle was beginning to turn ugly for the two, as they seemed to be unable to reach an agreement. And rumors say that even this agreement would not have been possible without a special person’s intervention – none other than Clara Chia Marti.

The 23-year-old had an instrumental role in convincing Pique to settle for the terms. She made the plea to arrive at a conclusion that would be best for the ex-couple and their children, Milan and Sasha.

“The young woman wants the two to settle things without hurting each other and she would have been the one who has convinced the athlete to calm down and talk things over facilitating the wishes of the mother of his children,” according to El Nacional.

Marti’s words seem to have had the desired effect, not to forget she now has Pique all to herself.
