Britney Spears has no doubt been through a lot in the past few years. The conservatorship was hard enough for her, but lately, she has also been subjected to hate and criticism by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. To add to her misery, the ex also shared videos of her arguing with her sons to paint her as a bad mother. Such attempts at ruining her reputation probably made the singer feel betrayed, but there is one person who has been giving her the support she needs during these rough times. That person is none other than the legendary singer, Sir Elton John.
Elton John praises Britney Spears, says she sings ‘fantastically’
The Candle In The Wind singer recently released a new song with Britney Spears, titled, Hold Me Closer. The song marks the return of Baby One More Time singer to the music industry after years. Thus, the song is no doubt special for the singer. Recently, in an interview with The Guardian, Elton John shared his experience of working with the singer.
“She sang fantastically. Everyone was saying they don’t think she can sing any more. But I said, she was brilliant when she started so I think she can. And she did it, and I was so thrilled with what she did.”
Elton John also shared how important the song was for the singer.
“The song meant so much to her, and you can hear it in her vocal performance. She’s singing her ass off.”
Britney Spears was scared to sing again, but Elton John helped her out
This is no surprise since singing is no doubt a very important thing in the singer’s life, and returning to it after years must have been freeing for her.
However, things weren’t all so smooth. Elton John revealed that the singer did struggle at first, and he had to motivate her to keep going.
“We had to get her to approve what she did. She’s been away so long – there’s a lot of fear there because she’s been betrayed so many times, and she hasn’t really been in the public eye officially for so long. We’ve been holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be alright.”
Elton John enjoyed working with Britney Spears
Despite everything, Elton John was very happy to work with the singer and believes that the song will help the singer move past her trauma and become confident in her abilities once again.
“I’m so excited to be able to do it with her because if it is a big hit, and I think it may be, it will give her so much more confidence than she’s got already and she will realize that people actually love her and care for her and want her to be happy. That’s all anybody in their right mind would want after she went through such a traumatic time.”
Hopefully, the singer will grow from the support of celebrities such as Elton John, as well as her fans, and continue to release music and rebuild her life.
