According to reports, the 76th BAFTAs will be hosted by actor Richard E Grant and television presenter Alison Hammond next month. 14 nominees in the performance categories received their first nomination for their films at BAFTA 2023. The Blonde star also is excited by the BAFTA nominations for Best Lead Actress for the movie in which she played Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe.

The movie Blonde is a fictionalized account of Marilyn Monroe’s inner life, written and directed by Andrew Dominik. According to reports, despite having been in production for more than a decade, the release of Blonde on Netflix in September sparked considerable controversy. The critics appreciated the performance of the Cuban actress but felt that the film portrayed a slight exploitation perpetrated against the legendary actress of the 1950s. As the name suggests, the movie is based on the semi-fictional book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates that became a hit.
