It’s been seven years since Smallville officially went off the air but many fans are still obsessed with the series. It seems like now the Stars of the show has just given fans another reason to get all excited.

Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in the series recently posted a picture at Wizard World Chicago and the actor is accompanied by his co-stars Tom Welling and Ian Somerhalder!

Welling played the role of Clark Kent aka Young Superman in the ten seasons of the series. Somerhalder only appeared in the third season of Smallville as a character named Adam Knight.

The series ended in 2011 and this might just serve to ignite the cries for the revival of the popular show. Even Rosenbaum earlier revealed that the entire Smallville cast might return for an animated version of the series.

“I said to Al [Gough, Smalville co-creator], we should do an animated Smallville,” Rosenbaum replied. “That would be huge! I mean, Smallville: The Animated Series, with all the real voices? And I wouldn’t have to shave my head! We’ve got to do that. Can you imagine us on mics doing the same dialogue?”

Welling also expressed his excitement for an animated series with all the real voices from original actors at Awesome Con earlier this year. Smallville has seen various petitions by fans in the past to show that the fan base of the series is still intact but whatever the case might be, we really do hope that we get to see Smallville returning back to business.

“I mean, animated could be fun,” Welling said at Awesome Con earlier this year.
