Sony And Microsoft Partner Up For AI Solutions

Sony and Microsoft have announced a new partnership which will see the two team up to enhance customer experiences in their direct-to-consumer entertainment platforms and AI solutions. It will feature collaborations on new cloud based solutions for gaming experiences.

How Will This Collaboration Between Sony And Microsoft Work?

Under the memorandum which was signed by the two companies, Sony and Microsoft will explore a joint development of the future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective gaming and content services. Further the two companies will also explore the use of current Microsoft Azure data center based solutions for Sony’s games and content-streaming services. The press release tells that:

“By working together, the companies aim to deliver more enhanced entertainment experiences for their worldwide customers. These efforts will include also building better development platforms for the content creator community.”

What More Will This Partnership Between Sony And Microsoft Bring?

This new partnership between Sony and Microsoft will also explore collaborations in the field of AI and semiconductors. For the latter, this also means a potential joint development of new intelligent image sensor solutions that will integrate Sony’s cutting-edge image sensors with Microsoft Azure AI technology and Microsoft’s cloud technology. With this the companies will be aiming to provide enhanced capabilities for enterprise customers. As for AI, the two parties will be exploring the incorporation of Microsoft’s advanced AI platform and the tools which are present in Sony’s consumer products in order to provide “intuitive and user-friendly AI experiences”.

The president and CEO of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida said that:
