Sony’s Twitter has now playfully responded to the majorly exciting fan campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with star Andrew Garfield – AND HOW!

When No Way Home hits the theaters in the December of 2021, fans all around the globe finally saw some confirmation around Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield making an appearance in the film alongside Tom Holland.

Can Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man make a return?

However, this appearance in the MCU through the multiverse reignited the interest of all fans in seeing all three versions of Spider-Man continue their very own franchises. This sentiment is true, especially for Andrew Garfield, whose Peter Parker, combined with a rather emotional return made Garfields’ Spidey a standout part of No Way Home.

Andrew Garfield’s return as Spider-Man came after seven years of him last playing the role of Peter Parker in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The sequel by Sony received mixed reviews and was really underwhelming at the box office (despite the film making over $700 million globally) based on the overall expectations of Sony. The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s shaky performance at the box office led to Sony agreeing to work with Marvel Studios directly and reboot the web-slinger within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, this also meant that Andrew Garfield’s time as Spider-Man was over now, despite Sony’s earlier plans for him to get in some Amazing Spider-Man sequels and also make an appearance in spinoffs. Fans are now really more interested in seeing the same plans (of Sony’s) continue after No Way Home, leading them to a growing fan campaign on Twitter for Sony, to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

The fan campaign #MakeTASM3 Continues To Heat Social Media

The fan campaign on Twitter, which goes by #MakeTASM3, has been making rounds on social media for the last couple of months as die-hard Marvel fans continue to tweet at Sony, sharing their interest with them.

After a social media post drew more speculation recently that an official announcement for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 could be on the cards, as Sony’s official Twitter accou

nt has now finally responded to these tweets. In a new tweet, promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s availability on the digital platforms, Sony referred to Garfield’s Spidey as The Amazing Peter #3 in their tweet. As it was this same phrasing that sparked speculations for Amazing Spider-Man 3 earlier as well, the social media team for Sony also included a hilarious disclaimer that says that they pretty much see the #MakeTASM3 hashtag but sadly, they aren’t the ones who greenlight films.

Sony’s Twitter Account Responds; Can We See A Return for TASM 3?

Sony’s Twitter account, as it reveals, may not hold the power to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but it still remains the best avenue for many fans to show their support to the franchise. Fans who want to see Andrew Garfield starring in a third solo movie are clearly more inspired to continue their campaign, especially after Zack Snyder supporters played a huge role in creating and then raising the awareness around the Snyder Cut, which led to Zack Snyder’s Justice League being finally announced on HBO Max. While we do realize that making TASM 3 will be a lot more work than the release of the Snyder Cut, that shouldn’t stop fans online from making sure Sony is aware of what they want.

It is yet to be seen if the social media campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 actually totals to something in real. Even if a sequel or a simple cameo in the Venom-Verse doesn’t set free Sony’s plans for Andrew Garfield, a return in the MCU could remain intact in the cards. A deleted scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home perfectly sets up his return, but it could’ve been cut to give Sony and Marvel more freedom on what to do with him in the days to come. However, for now, the fans who are supporting the #MakeTASM3 movement online can now take solace in knowing that Sony sees the hashtag and the imminent support around The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Now, it is just up to Sony to greenlight it.
