In a new fan-made film for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield were given an Avengers: Endgame-style send-off. With just two months until the Jon Watts-directed MCU picture enters cinemas, excitement for the threequel is rising. Holland recently stated that No Way Home is being “treated as” the conclusion of the Homecoming trilogy and his Spider-Man series, leaving many fans wondering what’s next for the young actor’s portrayal of Spider-Man.

No Way Home’s marketing campaign got off to a late start. The highly anticipated first trailer for the film wasn’t published until the end of August, and it soon became the most-watched clip in a 24-hour span. Since then, virtually little information regarding the film has been released. In reality, because Marvel Studios and Sony have yet to release an official No Way Home one-sheet, several theatres across the world have utilized fan-made posters to promote the picture. Nonetheless, the blockbuster’s idea is unmistakable. It picks up after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, with Peter Parker in a bind after his secret superhero identity is revealed to the public. Peter seeks assistance from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), but instead of making things better, the sorcerer’s efforts appear to make things far worse, opening the door to numerous multiversal threats.

Rumors of Maguire and Garfield starring in No Way Home as their respective Spider-Men continue to circulate, and one fan has taken matters into their own hands to make it happen. In light of Holland’s statements about the threequel purportedly signalling the end of a franchise, a new video from the YouTube channel Coastal House Media offers the film an Avengers: Endgame-style credits homage. The short includes Holland, Maguire, and Garfield dressed as the web-slinging hero, with a music and visual style reminiscent of the end credits of the Infinity Saga. Check out the video below:

Tom Holland’s No Way Home Might Be The End Of The Spider-Man franchise

Tom Holland’s comments on No Way Home bringing the Spider-Man franchise to a close can be taken in a variety of ways. To begin, he might be alluding to the MCU’s Homecoming trilogy, which makes sense given the newly revised Marvel Studios/Sony contract. The next picture would be the collaboration’s final solo Spider-Man feature, according to the deal. This isn’t to say that the studios won’t be able to prolong their cooperation, which seems plausible given how financially successful the films have been. Furthermore, Holland is slated to participate in one more MCU ensemble picture, although no details on the project have been released. Second, the actor may be alluding to the entire franchise. If Maguire and Garfield are in the threequel, it might be a concluding storyline similar to Endgame. Finally, it’s conceivable that there are no plans for a future Spider-Man solo picture, which is why Holland and the actors regarded it as their final hurrah.

Having said that, it’s tough to imagine that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be the final chapter in the Spider-Man saga. Even after a succession of prior versions, the character is simply too beloved to be shelved. The decision by Marvel Studios and Sony to advertise the movie thus late in the game indicates that the studios are confident of good attendance in theatres from fans. The film, like Avengers: Endgame, might represent the end of an era, but it’s unlikely to be the last of these famous characters.
