Movies often try to do their best when it comes to spin-offs and franchises. The first movies usually do well and they are the reason they make sequels or spin-offs. But that’s not what always happens. Many times it does happen that the original movies were flawed, but they had some great characters who deserve their movies.
And due to them, the spin-off movies were able to capitalize. Here are some spin-offs which were loved by fans.
The X-Men franchise has some amazing characters, but Logan was the best. The Wolverine trilogy started, it didn’t exactly hit off well with the Origins, but The Wolverine was received well by fans and critics alike. But it was Logan that successfully put all the pieces together and is considered the best movie.
Logan takes one last job and the fans finally get what they have ever wanted from the character. Logan is a great movie. He comes out of retirement to escort Laura, a young mutant to a safe place. He meets other mutants who have escaped an evil corporation that has been experimenting with them.
2. Hobbs and Shaw
The Fast and Furious franchise has had so many movies that many of us are now tired of hearing about another movie. It started as a street racing drama and has gone on to become one of the biggest worldwide action series. Every addition to the franchise has bizarre things done by cars.
Hobbes and Shaw however take the franchise to a logical conclusion. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham transform the series into a goofy spy movie. It is also a bizarre film but it is also the funniest. US agent Luke Hobbs and British mercenary Deckard Shaw are forced to put their rivalry aside to work together to stop a supervillain.
No one wants to talk about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. That movie was also the big-screen debut of Deadpool. It was one of the worst movies of the franchise and wasted the source materials of the characters.
But luckily for the fans, Ryan Reynolds never gave up on reviving Wade Wilson and we finally got to see the faithful adaptation of Deadpool. And everyone agrees that it’s much better than Origins and it even surpasses every other main X-Men series movie.
This spin-off is quite interesting since it’s not a spin-off of one movie but two. Machete is a character that was first seen in Spy Kids series but he was also a fake B-movie trailer that was seen in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse projects.
The movie is fun and it translates onto the screen. The movie does make no sense but it is fun and guess what, the sequel is even better! The sequel shows Machete going to space, what can be more fun?
Rocky is a classic movie, but Creed is way too better. It features the most amazing performances from Michael B.Jordon and even Sylvester Stallone gives his best performance.
The plot revolves around Adonis Johnson, son of the heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. Adonis embraces his legacy as a boxer and seeks mentorship from Rocky Balboa who is his father’s old friend as well as a rival.
