Sadly, the world lost one of its most iconic storytellers today. Stan Lee, the legend behind many top Marvel characters, passed away at 95. Millions of fans all across the globe are now taking time to remember the writer and editor for his exceptional work, and DC Comics is no different.

The DC Comics official Twitter page posted a statement about Lee after the sad news of his death went public. Here’s what they wrote:

“He changed the way we look at heroes, and modern comics will always bear his indelible mark. His infectious enthusiasm reminded us why we all fell in love with these stories in the first place. Excelsior, Stan.”

Despite the rivalry between the two Comic giants, there are no sides when acknowledging Lee’s contribution to the comic book world. While his final days had a lot of controversies, Lee always pulled out with his usual cheer of “Excelsior!”

Lee was still active on social media where fans awaited his comments on Marvel Studios’ next venture, Captain Marvel.

Fans and celebrities all across the globe are taking their time to remember the legend for his many deeds and characters he brought to life. The writer started the Marvel Universe alongside Jack Kirby with Fantastic Four and later Spider-Man and The Avengers.

Outside the world of comics, Lee constantly appeared on Marvel’s films and television shows. This made him one of the most prolific producers in Hollywood to date. He has acted as an Executive Producer on many Marvel Studios’ films under both, Fox and Sony.

Lee was indeed the face of comic books in the west. Even after retiring from Marvel, he was a constant participant in all Marvel ventures. May he rest in power!
