Star Wars fans are really excited about the upcoming series Star Wars: Andor. The first season has wrapped its filming already but they have still not set a release date for the same. There are high chances of the fans coming to know about the date of Star Wars Celebration day this year.

What we know is that series is going to get its own panel at the event and possibly a trailer launch with a released date could be revealed too. Actor Stellan Skarsgård had confirmed that there would be 2 seasons along with some minor details but nothing else has been revealed as of now.

Is Star Wars: Andor Getting A Season 2?

Andor 2 Filming rumor debunked by Disney
A still from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

As per what Making Star Wars has reported, it just confirms what Stellan Skarsgård had said about the series getting another season. According to their report, they shared a source from none other than Elstree Studios (this is where the OG Star Wars trilogy was filmed) which said that the filming for the 2 seasons would become in November. They said the production is slated for 18 months. But a source from Disney has confirmed with Screenrant that this is sadly a rumor and a false one.

This means that it is highly possible that Disney might just not go with his plan.

Andor season 2 on hold
Rogue One was released back in 2016

Back on 15th March 2022, The Direct had reported that the series Star Wars: Andor could probably premiere on Disney+ In August 2022. So looks like they still have quite a lot of time, to think about season 2. The series is set to be 12 episodes long!

Coming to season 2 of the series, it is possible that Disney could concentrate on another Star Wars before starting with the production of the second season. And possibly the second season of the series could air sometime in 2023 or 2024.

The series will be focusing on Cassian Andor who was a hero in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The show is set 5 years before the events of the Rogue One film. It will follow rebel spy Cassian Andor during the early years of the Rebellion. Fans can expect characters from Rogue One to make an appearance in the show.

We can’t wait to see the Star Wars universe expanding more with the upcoming show Star Wars: Andor!
