The second volume of Stranger Things season 4‘s runtime has been finally revealed by its writers. Netflix’s popular series recently released the first part of season four, which had a total of seven episodes, reigniting the love fans have over the insanely popular series.

The second part of Stranger Things will premiere in July and will have two more episodes, including the finale, totaling 9 episodes. The fourth season begins around nine months after what took place at the Starcourt Mall in Hawkins, which left the gang of friends separated while Hopper finds himself in Russia.

Stranger Things season 4 stars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Sadie Sink, Brett Gelman, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, and Eduardo Franco. Returning stars include Paul Reiser as Dr. Sam Owens and Matthew Modine stars as Dr. Martin Brenner, as the two play a significant role in the new season.

The new season also features star Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) as Victor Creel, with Twilight‘s Jamie Campbell Bower as the new villain of Stranger Things, Vecna. After waiting for days for the new season, it was revealed that the episodes would be longer than they are and that was confirmed when the first part was released as the first seven episodes all had a runtime of over an hour long.

With fans anticipating the last two episodes, the stranger writers Twitter handle posted that the Stranger Things season 4 finale will be clocking in at 2 hours and 19 minutes, still shorter than the original time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, the show is still longer than many films and is the longest finale of any show thus far.

After a three-year-long wait for season four of Stranger Things, Netflix is lengthening the episodes, and part 2 will not be any exception.

It looks like Netflix is trying to milk Stranger Things for all they have, especially with their subscriber loss recently and the show’s end altogether. While the fifth season of Stranger Things is likely a few years away, it will certainly be the end of an era for the streamer.
