Harry Potter is more than just a book and movie franchise. It’s our entire childhood that taught us the lessons of sacrifice, friendship, and perseverance. It also introduces us to the magical world of Hogwarts and all the endless possibilities beyond our imaginations!

With so much magic around, there’s no surprise that there are some powerful weapons around too, which can cause massive destruction, if in the wrong hands! Here are some of them:

1. The Elder Wand

The Elder Wand

The Elder Wand is an important part of the Deathly Hallows since it’s the most powerful wand in the wizarding world. It was designed by Death itself and is capable of incredible magic. The wizard who rightfully owned the Elder Wand could never be defeated and we can’t wait to see how Dumbledore got into the possession after defeating Grindelwald.

The wand is so powerful that it can even defy the universal rules of magic. We all know that wands once broken can’t be repaired, but in the books, Harry, at the end of the War uses the Elder Wand to repair his own! And no, he didn’t break it because he isn’t a fool (in the books), he returned it to Dumbledore’s tomb. And when Harry dies a natural death, the power would be finally broken, or would it?

2. The Cloak Of Invisibility

What makes the Cloak of Invisibility a powerful weapon is a fact that it can shield anyone from any harm. One of the Peverell brothers used it to hide it from Death and if you can hide from Death himself, you can hide from anyone.

The clock can also resist other spells; like when one death eater yells, “Accio Cloak”, Harry’s Cloak doesn’t come off! However, it can still be seen on the Marauder’s Map and can’t escape Mad-Eye Moody’s magical eye!

3. The Sword of Gryffindor

The Sword of Gryffindor is the most powerful weapon in the Wizarding World, apart from the wands. It is a treasured moment as it belonged to one of the founding members of Hogwarts. The sword is immensely powerful and will only present itself to a true Gryffindor!

Moreover, it can absorb a lot of strength, as rightly pointed by Hermione that the reason it could destroy Horcruxes was that only goblin-made blades imbibe only that which strengthens them, just like Basilisk venom could destroy Voldemort’s diary.

4. The Pensieve

Pensieve might not seem powerful at first, but it is more powerful than one could think of. The Pensieve can cast the user into memories and gives one supernatural awareness of events that they can witness. This lets them insight into things that could help them learn about their enemy’s weaknesses and all the truths.

It played an important role as to help Harry and others use Dumbledore and Snape’s memories to search Horcruxes and defeat Voldemort as well.

5. The Philosopher’s Stone

The Philosopher’s Stone can turn any metal into pure gold and it also produces the Elixir of Life which delays the death of whoever uses it. Only Nicholas Flamel has been able to create such a substance and has himself used the stone to live for many centuries, but he was wise enough to let Dumbledore destroy it when he came to know what Voldemort did to get the stone to restore himself.

Maybe the Flamel helped his friend Dumbledore as well with some of the elixir?

6. The Resurrection Stone

The stone doesn’t help the owner to live longer, but it can bring back the life of someone who has died. Death is a place, no one can come back so many are drawn to the power of the stone to talk to someone they loved dearly.

Albus Dumbledore himself was attracted to the power of Resurrection Stone. But the powers are limited since you can’t defy the rules of death, no one can come back from the dead and what comes back would just be a shadow of that person. The stone still lies somewhere in the Forbidden Forest!

Death can’t be undone, be it in the reality or Rowling’s magical universe.
