David Ayer is all over Twitter right now because of #ReleaseTheAyerCut. Ayer’s Suicide Squad which was released in 2016 did not reciprocate well with the viewers and critics alike. Even after having some A-list actors such as Will Smith and Margot Robbie, the anti-hero team did not really perform well. However, fans have always wondered about Ayer’s personal vision after watching Zack Snyder’s Justice League. More so, Ayer has even commented on the ongoing Twitter trend. We love ourselves a good story leak every now and then right? Well, this is just one of those times. Ayer fans are desperately waiting for the Ayer Cut and want to see the true potential of his Suicide Squad. Previously, Ayer replied with a three-page statement on Twitter after Tim Grierson, a critic for Screen Daily messed with him. And once again, he has not refrained from commenting on these leaks. However, let’s jump right into it. These leaks first surfaced on @RTAyerCutSS’s Twitter account. Check out the images below:

Harley Quinn and Deadshot

First, the most sizzling reveal is that Ayer’s cut supposedly has a striking romance between Deadshot (Will Smith) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). Alongside this, a part of the script has also been revealed describing their romance. But that is not it for the team of anti-heroes.

Jai Courtney’s Boomerang

Another interesting and visually stunning image that has leaked on Twitter is the sight of Jai Courtney’s Boomerang. He can be seen in his jail cell lighting a fire and the look on his face is purely captivating. But apart from this, there have been one too many script leaks. One of the scenes includes the Joker confronting a judge while laying in his bed instead of his wife. But one that really stirs the movie up is his involvement in the finale. He is in a tiff with Harley and is seemingly prepared to end her, but doesn’t. This only proves that Jared Leto’s Joker had a lot more part to play in the film than we originally saw.

Well, it looks like the director is not shying away from accepting these leaks. When a fan asked if any of the shots from the leaked script, he replied, “All of them.” This means that there was an alternate version of the mid-credits scene including Amanda Waller and Batman which was indeed shot.

Will Smith & Margot Robbie

Ayer has cordially refused to accept the theatrical cut of Suicide Squad as of recently. He does not want to associate himself with that version as he claims that the Studio really botched his vision. While commenting on the Twitter trend, Ayer said:

“Was going to low in all this. But the engagement with this hashtag is stunning. All I can say is please keep it positive. It’s humbling to have so many people pulling for me. #ReleaseTheAyerCut Light and love always win over darkness”

We wish that Ayer cut gets released and we can see all of the crazy stuff that we have just read in the script. In my opinion, Leto’s Joker was not given enough time and hence the people considered his character to be off-putting. So seeing more of him would be a delight. But in general, we would get to see how much of Ayer’s original vision was cut out and how great the 2016 Suicide Squad was meant to be.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad opened up to highly positive responses from viewers and critics alike. But some fans felt that the movie was rushed. However, Gunn’s movie is far behind from the 2016’s movie box collection. Well, owe it to the pandemic era that we are living in. The Suicide Squad is available in theatres and HBO Max.
