Warner Bros. and DC’s Aquaman was reportedly screened last night and good news for all DC fans, the film has yielded positive reactions from the audience.
Aquaman is scheduled to release on December 21, later this year and while test screenings for films aren’t really uncommon at all, Warner Bros and DC have a lot on stake for Aquaman. While DC’s last film, Justice League failed miserably in the box office that even made fans upset with the film. The film grossed less than Thor: Ragnarok and didn’t even come anywhere close to the billion dollar mark.
Steve Weintraub of Collider says he’s heard good things from those at the screenings.

I hear it's good (not great) and that's all we can hope for in the end. I'll take it. pic.twitter.com/abrW3fEOgr

As for Arthur’s quest, it is revealed by DC Films during a press visit to the Aquaman film set.
“Aquaman goes on this quest to find out where the true trident, the king’s trident, is,” Aquaman’s unit publicist Ernie Malik said. The Quindent Aquaman used in Justice League is “not this trident, the dead king’s trident, which is really the trident you want. With this trident, you can control the whole ocean, everything. But only a true king can wield it in their culture.”
Here’s the official synopsis for Aquaman:
“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.”
Comparing Justice League with Avengers (2012) will be unfair as Avengers had five individual films that lead to the ultimate team up of heroes while the Justice League only had three. Nevertheless, Aquaman by James Wan seems promising to both fans and critics. Wan is widely known for directing films like The Conjuring, Furious 7 and Insidious. The trailer of Aquaman has received a positive reaction from fans, as the film has even been compared to Star Wars in terms of colours and aesthetic that was applied to bring the kingdom of Atlanta to life.
The film is directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The film will release on December 21, 2018.
