“He’s ( Thanos ) not just a relentless machine collecting stones like he’s going shopping,” says Stephen McFeely, the film screenwriter.
So, Infinity War is all set to theatres and is going to feature the deadliest Marvel villain of all time. Thanos. But what makes him so?
He is still searching for all the stones. So we are clear that it’s not the stones that makes him powerful. This question was put forward to the movie screenwriters and they revealed their thoughts on Thanos.
“He’s stronger than the Hulk. He’s more like Genghis Khan. He’s a force of nature. He has a spiritual wisdom well beyond all the other characters,” Jor Russo, the co-director explained to Empire Magazine. “He is a conqueror of worlds. He doesn’t have a weakness, and that’s what makes him so threatening.”
The screenwriters McFeely and Markus also discussed their POV on Thanos.
“One of the big challenges is how to make sure he’s not just a relentless machine collecting stones like he’s going shopping,” McFeely said.
“So we want to give him a full weighted emotional story. You can kind of say this is Thanos’ origin story so that he will get the weight of any of the previous heroes in terms of the decisions he has to make in order to get what he wants.”
