West’s controversial slogan is a way of retort, against the ‘Black Lives Matter’ cause. And the black community and allies do not support this in any form. People bashed the slogan when West first came up with it.

It was obvious then that West’s choice of slogan for his label did not sit right with Smith and decided not to continue with the show. It is reported that right around when West was giving his welcome speech, Smith got up and left the show with,

“ I don’t care who’s it is, if I don’t feel the message I’m out”

Showing his disappointment at Kanye West and his slogan of “White Lives Matter’. Also, this is not the first time that the Rapper has said some controversial stuff regarding the Black community.
