The Batman opens in theatres on June 25, 2021. Other forthcoming DC Extended Universe films comprise Birds of Prey (Along with also the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020, along with The Suicide Squad on August 6, 2021.

The Batman will reportedly return to the first days of the Dark Knight’s livelihood fighting crime in Gotham City. Matt Reeves has said the movie is affected by the timeless Batman: Year One comic book narrative, but it won’t be a direct adaptation of any specific comic book narrative. X-Men films star Nicholas Hoult was likewise supposedly a finalist to play the part of Bruce Wayne from the new movie, but the prior Twilight celebrity won out. Other celebrities who were rumored to be in contention comprised Jack Reynor, Alexander Ludwig, Jack O’Connell, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Pattinson himself has stayed tight-lipped in regards to the rumors for the time being.

“Year One is among many comic books that I adore. We’re definitely not performing Year One,” Reeves said. “It’s just fascinating to be focused quite specifically on a narrative that’s defining for him personally and very private to him. Obviously, we are not performing an origin narrative or anything like this. Reeves took to Twitter to discuss three bat emoji and a gif of Pattinson staring dramatically to the foreground. Rumors about Robert Pattinson being the new Batman have been since May, together with Variety reporting last week that the deal was finalized.

Fans are still awaiting official confirmation from Warner Bros., but Reeves’s tweet appears to imply that Pattinson will be donning the cape and cowl. DC Entertainment established a brand new Batman Twitter account, possibly suggesting they are preparing social websites for the statement.
