The most recent episode of the third season of The Boys, “Herogasm,” gave fans the surprising two supes who were actually the founders of the titular orgy: Stormfront and Soldier Boy.

While trying to enter into the TNT Twins’ mansion, Soldier Boy reveals to Billy and Hughie Campbell that he was the one who co-founded the whole Herogasm event back in 1952 alongside Liberty.

Payback’s former leader doesn’t give out any hint if he knows that Liberty was actually an alias of Stormfront/Klara Risinger, however, he refers to her as a “firecracker.” At another point in the episode, it is further revealed that this particular Herogasm happens to be the 70th anniversary, which surprisingly also squares with the timeline of Soldier Boy.

Introduced in the second season of The Boys, Stormfront turned out to be the ex-wife of Frederick Vought, founder of Vought International. Being a Nazi who wanted to work alongside the powerful Homelander to create a new master race, she died in this season after she bit off her own tongue on Homelander’s birthday while she was still recovering from the many wounds inflicted to her by Ryan in the finale of Season 2.

Eric Kripke, the creator of The Boys on Prime Video, also teased the series by going deep into how the history of Stormfront and Soldier Boy histories intersect with each other and this could exactly what he meant. For now, it is unclear if the future episodes will flesh out their relationship any further.

The Boys is based on the comic series by Darick Robertson and Garth Ennis seeing the titular team, which is led by Billy Butcher, go against Vought International, the organization that creates superheroes. The series is a bit different from its source material, including the mention of Payback, and Soldier Boy’s team. In the original comics, Stormfront — is a male — and a vital member of Payback and, not forgetting a co-leader of the group.

“Herogasm” was among the most anticipated episodes of The Boys. Kripke earlier stated last year that he doesn’t actually believe anything can top “Herogasm,” which is an orgy for superheroes. Moreover, Jensen Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy, stated earlier that the crew on the episode “looked absolutely traumatized” while working on the set.
