The Flash: Michael Shannon And Antje Traue From Man Of Steel Added To Cast List
Both the giant superhero studios, Marvel and DC, are all about the Multiverse at the moment. Marvel is doing quite well with No Way Home‘s multiversal storyline, followed by the upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which will delve further into the multiverse. On the other hand, DC also has its own plans with The Flash, which will also release next month. Now, as per as official cast list spotted by Collider, The Flash is addingAntje Traue and Michael Shannon, who previously made an appearance in 2011’s Man Of Steel.
Man Of Steel’s Michael Shannon And Antje Traue Added To The Flash
The movie, which has Andy Muschietti in the director’s chair, finds Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, handling his own life and mistakes, as he will be pushing the limits of his superpowers, and ultimately ending up meddling with the multiverse. Apart from Miller, we can also expect Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton in the film, as their versions of Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Kiersey Clemons will be returning as Iris West and Ron Livingston will replace Billy Crudup as Barry Allen’s father, Henry. Sasha Calle will be debuting in Supergirl, with Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Barry’s mother.
Michael Keaton Has Played Batman Twice
Keaton played the role of Bruce Wayne in Batman (1989), eventually reprising the iconic role for Batman Returns (1992). “Frankly, in the back of my head, I always thought, ‘I bet I could go back and nail that motherfucker,'” Keaton recently said about playing Batman again. “And so I thought, ‘Well, now that they’re asking me, let me see if I can pull that off.’ What’s really interesting is how much more I got [Batman] when I went back and did him. I get this on a whole other level now. I totally respect it. I respect what people are trying to make. I never looked at it like, ‘Oh, this is just a silly thing.’ It was not a silly thing when I did Batman. But it has become a giant thing, culturally. It’s iconic. So I have even more respect for it because what do I know? This is a big deal in the world to people. You’ve got to honor that and be respectful of that. Even I go, ‘Jesus, this is huge.'”
However, one should keep in mind that the presence of Shannon and Traue doesn’t mean they’re definitely playing Zod and Faora-Ul as both of them together might certainly indicate that. Zod, obviously, died at the hands of Superman in Man of Steel, while Faora got trapped in the Phantom Zone.
The Flash will release on 22nd November next year.
