An adaptation of The Invisible Girl
Blue Jeans writes that the adaptation will be an eight-hour series. The story, which will be set in the picturesque southern part of Spain, will focus on a duo who will have to uncover the secret behind the murder of a teenage girl in a small town called Cardena. Their task is cut out as everyone in the city of Cardena is a suspect in this crime. Filming begins in Carmona, Spain, and will head to other locations around the country.
Could be the next big Spanish series
Daniel Grao and Zoe Stein will have the task of playing the main characters in the series. And Morena Films executive producer, Pedro Uriol says that there’s something in it for everyone. He said,
“‘The Invisible Girl’ will surprise both fans of the novel and those who do not know the story yet. The young-adult thriller is mysterious and exciting with a sensational cast and a purely cinematic look. Father and daughter need to overcome their differences to solve a murder case that has shaken the peaceful lives of the inhabitants of Cárdena’; it is a character-driven story which will captivate viewers visually and emotionally.”
And Andreas Khevenhüller-Metsch, Beta VP of Sales couldn’t agree more. He said,
“With its extremely powerful IP and talented creatives, ‘The Invisible Girl’ is a project that caught our attention since the very beginning. This mystery thriller series is enhanced by its true-to-life characters.“
He even said that this series has the potential to perform well and could easily become the “next Spanish must-watch show” that would “thrive internationally.”
The Invisible Girl is in the works and will be released on Disney+.
