Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian revolves around Din Djarin, a lonely bounty hunter who becomes the guardian to a Force-sensitive child called Grogu, more commonly known as Baby Yoda. The second season ended with Din allowing Grogu to finish his Jedi training with Luke Skywalker, leaving it unclear when the two would see each other again. The finale of last season also saw Din taking out Moff Gideon in combat, making him the rightful owner of the Dakrsaber and Mand’alor, the leader of the Mandalorian. However, this places Din in direct conflict with Bo-Katan Kryze, who requires the Darksaber to reclaim herself as the ruler of Mandalore.

While the plot details for season three are still unknown, rumour reveals that the new season will feature Wookiees. Apart from this, the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett which was also announced during the post-credits scene of Season 2 will serve as The Mandalorian Season 2.5.
