Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe till date. The film is even termed as the best made by Marvel till date. It saw the story of the Mad Titan Thanos and his quest to attain all six Infinity Stones. The film established Thanos as the “baddest” villain seen till date, as he went against all odds and succeeded in attaining all six stones and wiping half of the existence with just a snap.

There were opportunities when Guardians and Avengers could have taken down Thanos and there were a couple of moments when they actually close to taking him down. There are also a few alternatives that might’ve ended the film right where it began.

For instance, if Scarlett Witch would have destroyed the Time Stone and Vision right at the beginning of the film, Thanos’ dream to get all Infinity Stones would’ve just remained a dream. Also, if Gamora would’ve sacrificed her life at the beginning of the film, Thanos wouldn’t have laid his hands on the Soul Stone either.

Had Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt, kept his calm and if Thor had gone for Thanos’ head instead of his heart, none of the destruction would’ve happened. The film saw almost all characters fighting the Mad Titan but all those efforts panned out to a drop of blood.

While Iron Man and team faced Thanos on Titan, the rest of the heroes led by Captain America faced him on Earth. However, no hero could take him down. Wanda was able to hold the Mad Titan for a while but it was Thor who came the closest to take down Thanos. But all these efforts were non-effective as the film’s ending saw the end of half of the existence, including many superheroes.

However, many argue that there were a few who did not face Thanos. Wong and M’Baku did not come face-to-face with Thanos and neither did Shuri. Wong may have been helpful during the battle of Wakanda, as he would’ve sent the Outriders, Cull Obsidian and Proxima Midnight into the Mirror Dimension. But focusing on these three sidekicks could have taken away all the interest from the film.

However, the one hero who didn’t go against Thanos was Rocket Racoon. The rabbit has a big mouth and a bigger gun that we would have loved to see him use against Thanos, even though we know it would’ve been effective. Perhaps, as suggested by Quill, Rocket was scared and always found ways to stay away from Thanos throughout the film.

Rocket is still alive post-Thanos’ deadly snap and we will love to see him go against Thanos and his Black Order army. Being the only surviving Guardian in the roster, the Russos may use him for a bigger cause than just being a driver for the God Of Thunder. It will be interesting to see how Rocket teams up with Shuri to make new weapons.

Avengers 4 hits the theatres on May 3, 2019.
