When we talk about the threats in the DC Universe, we would have probably ever thought of something dangerous enough to restrict Superman from leaving his home. Or in simple words, forcing the Man of Steel to be quarantined!
Well, to be honest, such times do exist in the pages of history when the Superman got restless and annoyed the heck out of the Batman. The Earth was covered in chips of kryptonite, and our superhero, Superman had to stay in the Fortress of Solitude. Sounds similar, right?

Superman in Quarantine
The scientists discovered a miscreant piece from the planet Krypton which was on the course of collision with Earth. Luckily, the superheroes managed to demolish it before any impact was made. But unluckily, it blew up into several multi-coloured bits, which rained all over the Earth.
For the safety of his Superman’s own and all those that he might be protect in future, he agreed to stay in the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, the Justice League convened trusted superheroes to recover as well as destroy kryptonite as much as possible around the world.
Meanwhile, the Superman took shifts of monitoring duties, and even the Justice League was doing work equivalent to working from home. They only left the Solitude Fortress for a brief period that too for essential tasks, such as protecting the Gotham’s skyline.
Superman as an example for 2020
The kryptonite outside could be a danger to him wasn’t the only reason for Superman being quarantined. He was self-isolated because if kryptonite would disable him, the risk will be huge, without its powerful protectors around.
