October 4 saw a global outage that affected most major social media apps including Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. This outage went on for six long hours, with Facebook addressing the issue as a result of networking issues, and due to this disruption, many users had to turn to other platforms.

As per a report by Variety, Netflix has now brought word in their latest earnings report that the average viewer engagement went up by a massive 14%. Since the last few years, Netflix has become a red hot commodity among its audience with the release of Seinfield and most stunningly, Squid Game, which has so far amassed 142 million views globally. With the release of the third season of You and the forthcoming Cobra Kai, the platform is expected to continue its excellent run in the fourth quarter of the year.

While Netflix remains the most successful premium streaming service with its impressive variety of shows and films, they still continue to raise the bar for themselves, topping the cable and broadcast markets in the US.

With the outage of Facebook, it shouldn’t come as too surprising for Netflix’s figures to rise during that duration as its content has resonated well among the audiences. Even though Netflix still believes that there is scope for more improvement, this feat must come as a major triumph for the streaming service.
