The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus has stated that it would be “fun” to play Marvel’s Ghost Rider or Silver Surfer. He said this during the Walker Stalker Con’s ‘An Evening with Norman and Jeffrey event when he was asked about which Marvel role he’d take.

“I think Silver Surfer is pretty awesome,” his show co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan added. The character of Ghost Rider was previously played by Nicholas Cage in the 2007’s adaptation of the character and later in its sequel in 2011.

The rights of the character have since reverted from Sony Pictures to Marvel Studios, allowing Johnny to appear in the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ghost Rider did make a cameo in Agents of SHIELD, where the character was played by Tom McComas.

Talking about Silver Surfer, the character last appeared in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer by Fox Studios. The character was played by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne.

Silver Surfer is expected to reboot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney’s acquisition of Fox’s assets is completed, which will allow all Fox-owned characters like X-Men and Fantastic Four to integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If this happens, Reedus will be the latest Walking Dead star to join the connected franchise after Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) and Danai Guirira (Black Panther & Infinity War). The ninth season of The Walking Dead returns on October 7 on AMC.
