‘They Know Exactly What Happened’: Alec Baldwin Goes On The Offensive After Court Rules He Pulled The Trigger In Rust Shooting, Hints Someone Knowingly ‘Put A Live Round In The Gun’
Hollywood actor and producer, Alec Baldwin was involved in the sad and tragic, Rust shooting incident last October, in which Ukrainian cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died while working on the sets in Mexico. Baldwin thought the pretend gun was not live when practicing a scene, but according to an FBI report, Alec Baldwin must have squeezed the trigger. After Halyna Hutchins passed away, the tragedy shook the crew to their cores and the movie’s production was halted. The inquiry into the shooting got underway right away and is being investigated by the Santa Fe County Sherriff’s Office and New Mexico’s first Judicial District Attorney. Authorities are still looking for explanations for how something like this could have happened.
The Rust shooting incident
A live round was fired on October 21, 2021, from the gun that Alec Baldwin was using as a prop during the shooting of the movie Rust. Two of the crew members, Joel Souza and Halyna Hutchins were hurt by the bullet fired as it grazed Joel Souza and then hit Halyna Hutchins in the shoulder. The cinematographer did not survive the gunshot while Joel Souza was injured. Alec Baldwin revealed in an interview with Good Morning America what actually transpired on the Rust film set. He claimed that Halyna Hutchins gave him a thumbs up to line up the shot and begin filming the sequence. “Without cocking the gun, I drew the hammers as far back as I could. When I let go of the hammer, the gun discharges with a bang.” said the actor.
Alec Baldwin suggests all of it was a setup
The actor has recently made an appearance on The Chris Cuomo Project podcast to talk about the incident in greater detail. He began by lamenting the investigation’s slow progress and the fact that people who were not present during the incident seem to be the ones discussing and speculating the most while those who were on the set know exactly what had transpired.
Alec Baldwin said “I know that every single person on the set of the film knows what happened, and the people who are talking loudest about what happened or speculating about what happened were not on the set of the film,“. He further adds, “Everybody who was there, they know exactly what happened. They know exactly who’s to blame. There is only one question to ask here, who put a live round in the gun?” With this, the celeb hinted that the gun was loaded by someone on purpose.
The mystery is yet to be solved
The Rust shooting case is far from getting solved even after 10 months of investigation. It is yet to be revealed what exactly transpired on the set of the film and if it was all really an accident or if some put a live round in the gun on purpose. With all the important questions about the incident still unanswered, it seems like it will take a bit of time before Halyna Hutchins’ near and dear ones get some closure about the tragedy that befalls her.
