Rob Lowe’s Court Case With His Nanny Was Ultimately Dismissed And Settled Outside Of Court
In an Interview with the Huff Post Lowe revealed,
“This woman worked in our home and traveled with us off and on for seven years, without complaint. In fact, she left other jobs to return to work for us three different times,”
At the start of the court case, several counts against Lowe were dismissed. However, a year later, the matter was finally resolved, and it seems like a resolution took place outside of court.
“Rob Lowe has settled his legal battle with one former nanny, Jessica Gibson, after a year-long scuffle that included charges of blackmail and s*xual harassment, People.com reports,” according to EW.
“Both sides have reportedly requested that their respective lawsuits be dismissed, according to court records. Lawyers for both sides declined to comment to People, so it’s not known if a financial settlement was involved.”
It remains unclear how the matter was settled, but it appears that both sides were satisfied with the outcome. Despite the drama, Lowe’s relationship with his family’s new nanny has been smooth sailing, and his children are happy and well cared for.
Not The First Nanny Battle Of Hollywood
The battle with Lowe’s nanny was not the first time a celebrity has had trouble with their nanny. Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and Sharon Stone have all had issues with former nannies in the past.
Mariah Carey, for example, has had more than one nanny battle in the past. One nanny complained about poor compensation, stating that she wasn’t paid for travel time. Another nanny filed a lawsuit for her ridiculous schedule, claiming to have worked weeks of 84 to 120 hours. Jennifer Lopez also lost several nannies due to her demanding schedule.
Sharon Stone also found herself in a lawsuit with her nanny, who claimed she was fired because she refused to give back overtime pay that Stone told her she did not deserve.
Despite these challenges, most celebrity families find ways to maintain positive relationships with their nannies. However, in Rob Lowe’s case, the nanny’s demand for money led to a court battle that lasted over a year.
