Roku released a teaser video for the movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story earlier this year. The teaser featured Alfred Yankovic’s 1985 Madonna parody Like a Surgeon. Fans have since been looking forward to getting more details about the movie’s debut starring Daniel Radcliffe, Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, and Tobias Huss. The movie was recently premiered at Toronto Film Festival on September 8, 2022.

A release date has finally been announced for the movie as well. On Friday, November 4, 2022, The Roku Channel will premiere the “Weird Al” Yankovic’s biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe. An official poster for the movie served as an announcement of the release date. It featured Alfred Yankovic beneath the Hollywood sign with the title of the movie written across the back of his jacket. In a recent interview with EW, Daniel Radcliffe and Evan Rachel Wood shared their insight about the movie.

However, the artist’s excessive lifestyle and romance puts his life on the verge of getting ruined.

In a recent interview with EW, Evan Rachel Wood talks about her role in the film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. According to her, Director Eric Appel gave her a very specific note regarding her character. She had to do a “sociopathic” portrayal of the pop icon, Madonna in the movie. “Eric directed me in one scene to be Madonna on a lot of cocaine,” she told the outlet. She continued to say:

“She’s very conniving and completely just using Weird Al, and everything she does is a pathological lie to get ahead in her career. So it was basically taking the genius that is Madonna and turning her into a sociopath that ends up running a drug cartel.”

To this Daniel Radcliffe, who is portraying “Weird Al” Yankovic in the movie commented as well. He told that the actress was committed a thousand percent to her role and it was exciting to work with her.

The Harry Potter actor, who is playing the lead in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story joined in on the interview. Daniel Radcliffe revealed to the outlet that, “Every character in this film starts as something you kind of recognize, and then you watch it explode into something truly insane.” The actor said, “I was randomly more half naked as Weird Al than any other character I’ve ever played. I’m like the cliche of the person who has stopped drinking and transferred that energy to something else.” The actor claimed that he had a lot of shirtless scenes in the movie and part of his process was prepping for them.
