Earlier today, Tom Brady took to Twitter and announced his retirement from American football. He did not beat around the bush and cut straight to the point. He said, “I’m retiring for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.” Brady explained that he is not going to give another heart-touching monologue like he did last time. He said, “You only get one super-emotional essay and I used mine up last year.”

The legendary quarterback went on to thank his family, friends, fans, and teammates for supporting him throughout his career. Brady further added that he wouldn’t change a thing about his career if he could.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a tough NFL season last year
Tom Brady’s team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a very tough season last year. They ended the season with a 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Considering how the season went, fans were already considering it to be Brady’s last season on the team. His contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was going to end this summer anyway and a re-signing was highly unlikely. Brady even gave a strange post-match interview that day without concluding what his next steps are going to be. He said, “I am going to get home and get a good night’s sleep. As reported by sources, his decision to unretire last year also marked the start of his marital troubles with his wife, Gisele Bundchen. Brady had first decided to retire from American football to spend more time with his kids and family in February. However, just six weeks later, he had a change of heart and decided to unretire again. He has allegedly not consulted his wife before making such a big decision and that fight ended up with the couple eventually being divorced. Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen finalized their divorce in October last year.
