Tom Cruise Reportedly Was Oscar-Snubbed for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ as He Returned His Awards Due to Lack of Diversity
The Mission: Impossible actor Tom Cruise, is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. He has various accolades under his belt such as three Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Awards, and an Honorary Palme d’Or. Oblivion, Edge of Tomorrow, and Top Gun: Maverick is some of Tom Cruise’s blockbuster movies. He is now furious as he feels one more award could have been a great addition to his collection., but the Golden Globe organization and Brad Pitt stopped it from happening.
Brad Pitt is also a celebrated actor. He has gained many awards for his work too including two Academy Awards, a British Academy Film Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Some of his notable works are —Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and World War Z. Also, Once upon a time in Hollywood earned him an Oscar.
Tom Cruise VS Brad Pitt
Tom Cruise is absolutely furious over the Golden Globe organization and Brad Pitt for snubbing his achievements. “They”, the committee is reportedly not pleased with Tom Cruise as he returned three of the Gloden Globes for–for Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, and Magnolia due to lack of diversity in the organization. His taking stand did not rub the committee the right way and thus, cut him out of nominations he believes.
“He took a stand and no doubt it didn’t go over well with them,”
Insider sources revealed to Radar Online,
“Tom expected to walk away with the award for best actor, so you can imagine his reaction when he wasn’t even on the list — he totally blew a fuse!”
They further added,
“This was the first time in years that Tom was so sure he had a slam-dunk win he was fine-tuning his acceptance speech,”
But he also believes Brad Pitt is also equally responsible for this incident.
“It stinks that Brad, once again, seems to have milked his relationship with the foreign journalists at the Globes to get his own movie — which many consider way inferior to Top Gun — a ton of nods. As far as Tom’s concerned, this snub is all Brad’s fault!”
Although he seems pretty heartbroken about it. A little jealousy and competitiveness are healthy among actors. He is now obsessed with beating Pitt in the race and fans can’t wait what he brings to the table next.
