Tom Holland And Florence Pugh Have Talked About Doing A Spider-Man And Yelena Crossover
No Way Home star Tom Holland has apparently had a conversation with Hawkeye and Black Widow star Florence Pugh about doing an MCU crossover between Spider-Man and the recently introduced yet beloved, Yelena Belova. Tom Holland revealed this while he was doing a podcast show interview, where the actor was asked about rumors if he wishes to work with Pugh in an MCU crossover. Holland admitted that the idea hasn’t really been pitched yet or even discussed amongst the boss, Kevin Feige, and the other big executives at Marvel Studios, however, the two actors have already talked out the kind of things they would love to participate in!
While making an appearance on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, actor Tom Holland took part in a quick-fire question round that had the question about his desire for a Black Widow and Spider-Man crossover. This is what he star had to say:
“[A Spider-Man and Black Widow II crossover] hasn’t been suggested to the big bosses yet, but Florence and I have definitely spoken about it, and hopefully one day we can make that happen. That would be very cool.”
Pugh’s Yelena Belova has exploded onto the Marvel scene with Hawkeye like a few MCU stars before her. Not only was she an instant breakout favorite in her debut film, she has also won over fans on the small screen, becoming a scene-stealer in Marvel’s Hawkeye series on Disney+. What makes it even more compelling is that Pugh’s character, Yelena, has far less development in the comics than about 90% of other characters adapted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is quite safe to say that truly Florence Pugh has built the character up into a mainstream icon.
One of the best things about Pugh is that she has gone on to prove to be a great team player. While MCU fans love Yelena on her own, it’s also when the young actress has paired with her fellow MCU stars (like Scarlet Johansson and Hailee Steinfeld), she’s really shined. Undoubtedly, there are many Marvel fans jumping with excitement at the thought of getting to see Tom Holland’sweb-slinger be the next to trade banter with Yelena Belova.
But how will this happen?
There have been many theories about where both Yelena and Spider-Man go next after they both were last seen hanging around Manhattan at Christmas time. Peter Parker is rebuilding his life from the scratch after the spell by Doctor Strange in No Way Home; while Yelena is theorized to be headed for either the MCU’s version of the Thunderbolts (under Valentina) or a Young Avengers team with Kate and other young heroes. Yelena’s entire journey could also include a stop on both teams, at different points.
Either way, the path of good or not-so-good might be the one that runs into Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. It could happen as Spidey becomes the next contract Yelena has to fulfill, in whatever project that happens to be.
