So far, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the highest-grossing movie of 2022 with $943 million worldwide. On the other hand, Top Gun: Maverick has earned around $901.8 million so far and shows no signs of slowing down.

According to data from Variety, Paramount studios has made over $859.4 Million leaving Disney with $574 Million. So far, the movie has made $474.7 million at the domestic box office becoming the highest-grossing movie for Paramount Pictures. The opening day earning of $51 Million made it Paramount Pictures’ largest opening ever. Top Gun: Maverick also replaces Mission: Impossible Fallout as Tom Cruise’s most successful opening weekend.

Top Gun: Maverick flies high on the fourth weekend
Recently, Marvel’s Doctor Strange 2 was left behind by Top Gun Maverick as it set a major box office record that even Marvel never achieved. The sequel, Top Gun movie made $44 million in domestic ticket sales following its fourth weekend in theaters. Only three movies have grossed over $40 million a month after their opening. Avatar with $50.3 million holds the first position whereas Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $42.4 million stands third and Black Panther with $40.8 million at the fourth position.
