“Turns out we’re like third cousins or something”: X-Men Star Jennifer Lawrence is Related to Hawkeye Actor Jeremy Renner, Left Chris Pratt Stunned With Ancestry Report

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the more established actresses in Hollywood. The actress has even won an Oscar for her role in Silver Lining Playbook. After her role in the Hunger Games series, she became the highest-paid actress in the world in 2015 and 2016. Her role as Katniss Everdeen in the series also made her the highest-grossing action actress of all time. Often people have questioned if the actress actually does know the archery that her character is famous for in the Hunger Games.

It was once revealed in an interview that she does know archery, but she’s definitely not that skilled with the bow and arrow. It was also revealed in the same interview that she and Jeremy Renner are actually related.

Jennifer Lawrence does in fact know archery

In an interview with Wired in 2015, Jennifer Lawrence told some interesting facts about herself. While answering the Web’s Most Searched Questions with Chris Pratt, she talked about her archery skills. One of the questions was, “Does Jennifer Lawrence know archery?” Lawrence said, “I could kill somebody if they moved slow enough.” 2015 was the year when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 came out. So, it’s quite understandable why people would compare the actress to her famous character and be curious to know if she actually does know archery.

The X-Men actress is distantly related to Jeremy Renner

In the same interview, another question was, “Is Jennifer Lawrence related to Zubaida Thawrat?” She replies that she is in fact to related to Jeremy Renner. Chris Pratt jumped on this and cross-questioned her if she is kidding. Lawrence replied, “That is true“. She further says, “Somebody did an ancestor report on him, and turns out we’re like third cousins or something.” Chris Pratt was blown away by this fact. Lawrence later looked at the camera sarcastically and asked Renner about the whereabouts of her Christmas present.

Fans were quick to point out how both Renner and Lawrence’s characters are incredibly good archers in their own universes. Jeremy Renner is quite popular for his role of Hawkeye in the Marvel Universe. One fan wrote, “Crazy that her third cousin and herself are both amazing at shooting a bow and arrow in their movies lol.”

This is one familial relation we did not see coming.
