Candice Patton, known for playing Iris West and Flash’s love interest in The Flash series since 2014 recently opened up about the racism that she had gone through. The actress revealed that The CW and Warner Bros. failed to protect her against toxic and racist fans when she debuted on the superhero show back in 2014. The actor played the role of Iris West for eight seasons and counting, and now she revealed that her early days on the show were full of online harassment.

The Flash actress, Candice Patton also revealed on The Open Up Podcast about WB and CW did not treat their “talent” properly,
“It’s not ok to treat your talent that way, to let them go through abuse and harassment. For me in 2014, there were no support systems. No one was looking out for that. It was free range to get abused every single day.”

It doesn’t matter.” However, Candice Patton also revealed that her experience has gotten better over the years. While hinting at her appearance in the upcoming series, Candice Patton said she’s not yet sure if the new season will be her final outing as Iris West.
