With back-to-back hits, Marvel raised the bar high for all the superhero movies. One of the reasons for Marvel movies being a blockbuster are the cliffhangers. MCU, without a fail, had engaged the audience with its twisting plots. However, there are some major unresolved plot threads far forgotten by the audience and there aren’t even slight chances of getting answers to those. Here, we’ve got you the 5 best-unresolved plot threads in the MCU.

5. Is Red Skull Dead?

Unresolved plot - Red Skull
Red Skull

Captain America’s Nazi opponent Red Skull, appeared for the first and only MCU time in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’. Their cold war for the Cosmic Cube resulted in Red Skull being disintegrated and flung into the cosmos as soon as he laid hands on the cube. Skull’s death merely by touching the cube sounds absurd. But if he’s not dead then where is he? Hiding in peace planning his next move? Although a Nazi opponent during this era might not be the case, Marvel never fails to surprise us.

4. Abomination’s Whereabouts?

Unresolved plot- Abomination
Abomination

With an obscure film comes the obscure villain. So is the case with ‘The Incredible Hulk‘ with Abomination aka Emily Blonsky as Hulk villain. Even though he survived the fight in Harlem against the Hulk, he never showed up again. Now that The Incredible Hulk is disowned from the MCU, this plot might never get a convincing explanation.

3. Source of Power: Scarlet Witch And Quicksilver

Loki‘s Sceptor, as shown by the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is the source of power for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. This might be the reason for Scarlet having a deep connection with Vision. However, this cannot explain how they got their powers.

2. A.I.M: Is it still a thing?

Aldrich Killian
Aldrich Killian

After being defeated by Tony Stark in ‘Iron Man 3’, Aldrich Killian and his company – Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M) became a long-lost story. Aldrich, with the help of Maya Hansen, generated the Extremis Virus and later he used it to fool the arms race by developing the persona of the Mandarian. There are many assumptions made, one being A.I.M. acquired by Tony himself, however, no solid proof has come across yet.

1. The Raft

The Raft
The Raft

Introduced in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, The Raft was the maximum-security prison underwater. In Netflix’s season two of Jessica Jones, we got to see this Raft again when Jessica’s mother due to her superhuman strength was being imprisoned. With Raft being a secure prison, which of the villains do you think might be there? Is this the answer to – Abomination’s disappearance?
