Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has slammed down Armie Hammer after he criticised celebs and fans for their methods of paying tribute to the Marvel legend, Stan Lee.

Lee, who is seen as a Marvel Comics mastermind and co-creator of characters like Spider-Man and X-Men passed away at 95 on Monday. Since then, many fans and celebrities have taken to social media, including a post from Dean Morgan.

Here’s what Hammer wrote on social media:

“So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.”

— Armie Hammer (@armiehammer) November 12, 2018

Many Twitter users, including fans and celebrities, have since fired back at Hammer for his unsolicited statement. Here’s what Morgan wrote in response to Hammer:

“Looks like you found a way to use others ways of mourning and their memories to draw some attention to yourself. You sound like a real asshat.”

Most fans seem to agree with Morgan who once reprised Thomas Wayne of DC Universe and is also a huge fan of comic books in general.

Hammer has not responded to the tweet until now, although he did respond to many users in his own defence.
