Ryan Reynolds may be best known as Deadpool, but he’s still remembered for playing the Green Lantern in 2011’s film under the same name, a movie so infamous that Reynolds’ Deadpool had to travel back in time to kill himself before he could sign on to the film. Now, in a response to that, Warner Bros. are jokingly demanding its ring back. However, there are no hard feelings, as the studio has greeted Reynolds on his birthday.

The studio commemorated the actor’s 42nd birthday with the Green Lantern Oath: “In brightest day, in blackest night, you won’t want to ignore our party invite.”

Irrespective of the fact that the film deserves to be the butt of jokes, Reynolds gave a fine performance as the titular character, and Warner Bros. seems to acknowledge that. While Reynolds has now moved on to play Deadpool, which has been loved by everyone, it’s at least satisfying to know that Warner Bros. and Ryan are still on good terms.
