It’s OFFICIAl! HBO is finally bringing the Watchmen series to life.

After production on the pilot of Watchmen series by Damon Lindelof, the network, after seeing what it needs from DC’s property, announced that Watchmen had finally been ordered to series.

HBO also revealed that the show is going to debut at some point in 2019, though we still don’t have a specific date.

The show’s extensive, all-star cast list has been officially confirmed in show’s press release. The full cast list include:

Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Regina King, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dylan Schombing, Tim Blake Nelson, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Adelaide Clemens, Sara Vickers, Adelynn Spoon and Lily Rose Smith.

The series will be written by Lindelof, he will also be the executive producer of the series alongside Tom Spezialy and Joseph Iberti. Stephen Williams & Nicole Kassell will serve as executive producers of the show in addition to directing the show as well.

Though the network was not very keen on sharing any sort of details about the show or the synopsis, we did got to see a logline which was included in the press release:

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.
