Prince Harry is spilling all the beans. His upcoming memoir Spare has already created quite an uproar ahead of its release on January 10. The most shocking revelation so far has been Prince William’s alleged abuse of his younger brother. The Duke of Sussex has further shared details about what happened behind the doors of the palace, especially pertaining to Queen consort Camilla. He got candid about the nature of her influence in his 60 Minutes interview on Sunday.

Prince Harry has subtly tagged Queen Consort Camilla as a villain, especially in his parent’s marriage. King Charles III and Camilla Parker tied the knot in 2005 after a decades-long affair. Princess Diana and now-King Charles finalized their divorce 9 years ago.

The Duke of Sussex has recalled the time leading up to his father’s second marriage quite vividly. He wrote of Parker, “She needed to rehabilitate her image.”

This line falls into context when one takes into account Camilla’s general perception in England as a royal homewrecker. Princess Diana was one of the most loved royal personalities and she was vocal about her husband’s affair as well. She famously said of her marriage with the now King, “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

Camilla Parker had therefore been tagged as a villain by the public for being the third woman in the royal marriage. Even though she was married while being involved with Charles for years.

The 38-year-old prince has expressed in Spare, that his stepmother was hell-bent on transforming public opinion of herself. And she was slowly becoming a threatening presence, “because of the connections that she was forging within the British press.”

The estranged royal further shared that he wanted her “to be happy,” so that she stayed “less dangerous.”

About the 75-year-old’s relationship with the British media, the father of two wrote,

“And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that.”

And with the then Prince Charles on her side unequivocally, she was pretty sure of her position. He had even hired a palace aide, Marc Bolland with the only job to clean up Camilla’s image in the eyes of the public.

Prince Harry has further revealed in his memoir that both he and Prince William were against their father’s second marriage. They even urged him to not go forward with it. Harry told Anderson Cooper during the interview,

“We didn’t think it was necessary. We thought that it was gonna cause more harm than good and that if he was now with his person, that — surely that’s enough. Why go that far when you don’t necessarily need to?”

The reason that the royal siblings gave in was that they “wanted him to be happy and saw how happy he was with her.”

Spare is set to hit the shelves in one day and with excerpts causing an uproar, it is only a matter of time what an impact the whole book might have.
