The actor had been a recent appearance on the show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ray Liotta and Taron Egerton are both starring in the series of Black Bird as they don the roles of “James Keen” and “Big Jim” respectively. He had the following to talk about when it came to his experience with working with the late actor, Ray Liotta.

“Sometimes actors can be… we’re a weird bunch, we do weird stuff, so I thought I’d leave him to it, give him his space, and across the room, he sort of caught my eye and just stood up, walked towards me in a sort of frail way. He’s in ailing health in the show, and he just embraced me, and we stayed that way for a little while. It was kind of weird but really nice as well. He was something of a hero to me, and when I read this script it’s got a very touching and really dysfunctional relationship at the heart of it.”

In Black Bird, the father-son relationship between the actors’ characters certainly had a significant role in their friendship. In the drama, Ray Liotta plays an esteemed police officer whose imprisoned son (Egerton) is forced to transfer to a high-security facility in order to entice a suspected serial killer to confess. Shortly after finishing the filming of Black Bird, Liotta passed away.
