House of Cards actress Robin Wright and her ex-husband Sean Penn sparked rekindling rumors after being spotted at LAX following an alleged brief trip together. The former couple is not known to have been in contact before their reunion last month, but their sighting was captured 13 years after the divorce. Both seemed to enjoy their time together; however, some reports indicate they are on good terms now, but not as a couple.
Following their divorce, the House of Cards actress married Clément Giraudet in 2018, and The Gunman actor married 30-year-old Leila George in 2020. This outing between Robin Wright and Sean Penn occurred only a few months after they divorced their respective partners in 2022. In 1989, the mother of two began dating Sean Penn, whom she married in 1996. After 20 years of relationship, they divorced in 2010.

House of Cards actress Robin Wright, 56, and Sean Penn, 62, were spotted together for the first time in years at LAX airport in Los Angeles last month. However, two days later, they were spotted meeting again. Following their appearance in LA, the former couple appeared to be spending some time together. Penn and Wright were married in 1996 and divorced in 2010. They have two children, Dylan, 31, and Hopper, 29, who are following in their parent’s footsteps.
When the two were spotted at the airport in Los Angeles, Wright wore a black turtleneck, dark-wash skinny jeans, and brown boots. On her arm, she carried a camouflage puffer coat. As for Penn’s clothing, he wore a beige T-shirt, cargo pants, and a black jacket with brown winter boots.
During an interview with E! News, Wright clarified the situation regarding her reunion with her ex-husband Penn and stated,
“It was a gift to be friends with the father of your children because being divorced while having kids is one of the most difficult things in life.”
She added,
“When you become estranged and become friends again … we were going to an event for our children. We’re always gonna be a family, whether we’re together or apart, you know, and I think that’s beautiful and I wish that for everybody.”
Two days later, the duo was again spotted for a meeting in casual appearance. According to the meetups and Wright’s clarification, the two traveled together for their son’s event. They will likely meet again in the future, as their kids are their utmost priority.
The Ex-Couple Married Other Individuals After Divorce, Both Are Now Single
Following their divorce in 2010, Robin Wright and Sean Penn moved forward with their personal lives. During their 20-year relationship, they welcomed two children into the world, and their primary focus was on them. It was difficult for them to face the post-divorce phase, but life never gives you an easy ride, so for their children’s sake, they reportedly reunited again, but not as a couple. However, they had both gone through a lot in their previous marriages before they recently met.
Wright and Clément Giraudet secretly married in August 2018 in France, where they hosted a small, bohemian reception.
