Jordan Peterson, the 60-year-old Canadian conservative author, and psychologist has never refrained from making controversial statements, staunchly supporting conservatism without a care in the world about how dumb he might sound. His latest spectacle involves a disrespectful and downright distasteful tweet that he posted about the trans actor Elliot Page on June 22. The tweet was a pointless and cliche attempt to take a jibe at the concept of Pride month along with a deliberate attempt to deadname The Umbrella Academy actor. It read:
“Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician.”
Jordan Peterson “would rather die” than delete the tweet
Twitter suspended Jordan Peterson’s account for violating company policy, with the notice:
“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.”
He was notified that his account will be back on if he deleted the tweet that was flagged as “hateful” conduct for deadnaming Elliot Page. And did the author accept Twitter’s terms and conditions? Well apparently, he “would rather die” than delete the disrespectful tweet.
The man didn’t stop even after his account got suspended. He went on to upload a 15-minute video, listing every single reason why he refuses to apologize for the tweet. In his own words:
“[T]he suspension will not be lifted until I delete the ‘hateful’ tweet in question, and I would rather die than do that.”
Of Pride month and the seven deadly sins
The clown-foolery didn’t end with Peterson’s obstinate statement though. The man went on to equate Pride month to the pride which comprises the seven deadly sins in Christianity. Maybe, on similar lines his deep and dense knowledge is the reason for his being as dense-headed as the poor old man is too, we might never find out.
The cherry on top is his blatant comparison of Page’s surgeons to that of the Nazi concentration camp physician Josef Mengele. Make that make sense…
Meanwhile, people across Twitter didn’t fail to give Peterson a much-needed reality check. Too bad he can’t see them though.
i can’t even be mad because it’s just SO embarrassing like… we only get one life and this is how you’re pissing it away?? https://t.co/mSS8QpHut5

jordan peterson making a 15 minute video with two different cameras crying about being suspended on twitter for straight up being transphobic about elliot page is hilarious. "intellectual giant" crying and debating twitter tos with the absolute worst arguments i've ever heard.

Dave Rubin follows Jordan Peterson’s footsteps; deadnames Elliot Page
In a related update, Dave Rubin, another conservative has followed Peterson’s footsteps and got his Twitter account suspended as well. And Twitter won’t be Twitter without conservatives crying out loud about “free speech” and how they’re being oppressed.
Jordan’s daughter Mikhaila Peterson tweeted about Rubin’s account suspension and an army of Peterson simps came to support and applaud dogma and orthodoxy, calling the Canadian author a treasure.
Your father is a treasure. He’s one of the greatest intellectuals of our time!!
— Rusty Shackleford (@JRMillerCWI) July 5, 2022
Tell your dad I admire his stance. Telling the truth is not to be punished but to be congratulated.
— y – Craig Clowes (@CraigClowes3) July 5, 2022
I think you are very right, your father's mind is very exceptional to be on a platform that does not value the contribution he has given to this world.

Jordan is bigger than tweeter

Some conservatives even sympathized with Peterson, who has apparently faced “emotional devastation” and “severe pain” (wish we could insert the sob-eye emoticon here).
And that the midden that is Twitter might be draining him when he’s feeling emotionally vulnerable, and irritable from so much severe pain, and worn out. Perhaps time away is a blessing.

Twitter comes out in beautiful support of Elliot Page
The sympathy train was called to a stop very soon and Twitter blasted with support of Dave Rubin’s account suspension. And they did not go gentle into the good night…
Dave Rubin didn't get suspended by Twitter just for reporting on Jordan Peterson's suspension — he also deliberately and separately deadnamed Elliot Page in his own tweet, violating Twitter's policy.
But he knows that — and it all just plays into his grievance business model. pic.twitter.com/LvOfEW7cPx

The fact that Elliot Page has maintained a dignified silence throughout the bizarre series of events did not go unnoticed by people either.
Elliot Page has now driven the mental breakdowns of Jordan Peterson AND Dave Rubin and he didn’t even have to say anything. what a king
— Jack Saint (@lackingsaint) July 5, 2022
Other people gave their generous support to Page while expressing their lament about how his name is being ceaselessly dragged in orthodox discourse.
It costs you nothing to be kind and respectful. It's Elliot Page.
— Adam Music (@MusicAdamT) July 5, 2022
it's really sad that Elliot Page is now being used as this culture war beachhead that these transphobic grifters can now continually assault in the name of tech censorship martyrdom
just let the guy act in movies and mind your fuckin business, and you won't have a problem
— Rob (@robrousseau) July 5, 2022
Folk refusing to let Elliot Page be Elliot Page are just desperate to elongate more Culture Wars for $$$. Its all so dumb. And before you go "ANDY! THEY'RE CENSORING US!" Twitter is a business with rules: If you want to deny trans lives basic decency & respect, do it elsewhere 🤷♂️

At a time when hate and stupidity are becoming synonymous traits, with the distinction slowly but surely blurring, one is reminded of how the gay playwright Oscar Wilde, himself punished on account of sodomy, once wrote: “There is no sin except stupidity”.
