Vincent D’Onofrio also revealed his picks when asked if he would like to see his character reuniting with Daredevil or would he like to take on Spider-Man, telling The Toronto Sun, as Spider-Man also happens to be a major Kingpin foe in the comics. “There are three characters that I would want for him to go up against not just two — it’s Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man.

Onofrio’s response seemed quite fitting as Wilson Fisk is best known as the archenemy of Daredevil in the pages of Marvel comics, but was originally a Spider-Man villain and Kingpin also has a past with the Punisher.

During the same interview, Vincent D’Onofrio discussed if he would like to see his character teaming up with more supervillains in the days to come, also suggesting that Kingpin could be the MCU’s next major villain. “I’ve never thought about it in those terms before,” the actor explained. “I guess that’s up to [Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige] and the writers. Do I think he’s capable of being the guy that’s behind everything? In my mind, he always was … I don’t think we’ve begun to explore how interesting Fisk is.”

Despite his suggestions, Kingpin’s future in the MCU is currently in doubt after the recently-concluded series finale of Hawkeye. While the final moments of the episode showed Kingpin being killed by Maya Lopez aka Echo, but Vincent D’Onofrio still believes that he is alive. “I hope he didn’t die,” D’Onofrio revealed after the episode aired. “I’m with the fans, I want to keep playing this part. My hope is that we continue.”

Talking about the future of Hawkeye on Disney+, director Rhys Thomas addressed rumors about Marvel Studios discussing a second season for the series. “I cannot speak to future plans in the tradition of secrecy. Again, the show coming out, you never know how it’s going to be received and it has been amazing to see how warmly people have taken it and enjoyed it,” Thomas said at the time. “And it’s been great to see [Hailee Steinfeld’s] character embraced and sort of land so firmly in the MCU. I sincerely look forward to where that character goes next. And yes, I loved walking on the streets of the MCU and would gladly enjoy doing it again.”

Meanwhile, an Echo spinoff focused on Alaqua Cox’s character is currently underway. While it’s believed Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner will reprise their roles as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop in the show, Marvel Studios has been quite zipped about their involvement in the project.
